How long have you been involved in tobacco control?
Since 2013

What brought you to tobacco control work?
Amanda began her journey at WF-WCPHD in the Tuberculosis department and worked hard to be promoted to Health Educator in the Tobacco Prevention and Control Coalition (TPCC) grant. Amanda worked at the WF-WCPHD for 5 years in the TPCC grant, however, due to funding cuts Wichita County no longer has this grant. Through the sustainability plan created by WF-WCPHD and the coalition, the work and the coalition continue with Amanda as a valued TPCC member on the Executive Committee.

What is your favorite part of empowering youth?
The best part about working with youth is helping them see the potential in themselves and working with them to unleash their passion, build character, and discover their inner self-discipline.

What do you do in your free time?
Currently, Amanda is attending college at Western Governor’s University because she believes in continuous learning. Amanda’s hobbies include reading fast paced-action adventure novels, swimming and spending time with her 3 children and husband.
