How long have you been involved in tobacco control?
Since 2013

What brought you to tobacco control work?
I lost my Grandmother when I was 17 to tobacco. Lung Cancer. I’m still pretty angry about that. 🙂 Nicotine was the catalyst and gateway drug for my ex-husband’s struggle with addiction, for my sister in law who passed away from an overdose, and for countless others.

What is your favorite part of empowering youth?
My favorite part of empowering youth is when a youth catches on to the fact that they are pretty much the bomb. Eyes light up, passion sets in, and there is no turning back. You give a youth purpose, you have an empowered youth. Nothing more fulfilling than seeing a youth find their potential.

What do you do in your free time?
When I am not fighting the good fight against tobacco, I am raising 5 kids of my own, hanging out with my hot hunk husband, volunteering in my community, throwing my hands up at a concert, camping in the great outdoors, laughing at a comedian, searching for the best tacos in the area I am in, or hankering to my wanderlust by traveling the Earth. And, eating chocolate.
